Whether it’s a gift to celebrate a milestone birthday, a wedding or a housewarming—this piece is an instant heirloom.

Origin of the Wheeler name

Wheeler is a classic English occupational surname derived from the Middle English wheler, designating a maker of wheels (a wheelwright). Given the absolute necessity of wheeled transport for agriculture, commerce, and warfare, wheelwrights were highly valued and respected artisans in medieval society.

Symbolism of the Wheeler Coat of Arms

This commanding Wheeler coat of arms is set on a gold shield featuring a bold black chevron positioned between three fierce black leopards' faces. The chevron represents the roof of a house, symbolizing protection and builders of the community. The leopards' faces denote valiant warriors who bravely defend their people. The crest features a striking red eagle displayed, rising from a ducal coronet, signifying a person of action, nobility, and high-reaching intellect.

Historical figures

Sir William Wheeler, 1st Baronet, was a prominent 17th-century Member of the English Parliament. General Joseph Wheeler was a celebrated American military commander renowned for his tactical leadership.
