The origin of the name Schultz
Schultz is the primary historical spelling variant of the ancient German and Dutch magistrate surname Schults (Schultheiß / "bailiff, magistrate, judge"). Establishing premier seats across Prussia, Saxony, Holstein, and North America, families bearing the Schultz spelling served as high-ranking military commanders, university professors, and international scientists.
The symbolism of the Schultz coat of arms
Sharing the exact ancestral bearings of the noble Schults lineage, the Schultz coat of arms features an argent / silver or white shield charged with a central dark blue or steel anchor, set beneath three golden five-pointed stars (mullets) in chief. In classical heraldry, the silver field symbolises sincerity, peace, and unblemished judicial purity, while the central steel anchor represents steadfast stability, hope, faith, and ocean or river lordship. The three golden stars in chief signify divine illumination, high intellect, celestial guidance, and noble alignment across generations.
