Whether it’s a gift to celebrate a milestone birthday, a wedding or a housewarming—this piece is an instant heirloom.

The origin of the name Fuentes

Fuentes is an ancient Spanish habitational noble surname derived from fuentes (meaning "fountains" or "natural springs," from Latin fontes). Originating in various manorial towns named Fuentes across Aragon, Castile, and Seville, the lineage traces back to early medieval knights who held lordships along key water courses during the Reconquista. The House of Fuentes produced Grandees of Spain, Counts of Fuentes, and distinguished military commanders throughout Iberian history.

The symbolism of the Fuentes coat of arms

Regal and hospitable, the Fuentes coat of arms features a central deep blue inner shield charged with five golden fleurs-de-lis arranged in a saltire pattern (2-1-2). The shield is enclosed within an argent / silver or white border (bordure) charged with eight golden cauldrons (calderas). In Iberian heraldry, the blue shield and golden fleurs-de-lis symbolise loyalty, purity, and royal favor. The silver border and golden cauldrons represent grand manorial hospitality, wealth, and knightly service. The formal recognition of this coat of arms was documented in Aragonese and Castilian nobility rolls and registered in the Nobiliario Español and J.B. Rietstap’s Armorial Général.

Historical figures

Don Juan de Fuentes (14th Century): Aragonese knight and royal counselor to the Crown of Aragon.
Pedro Enríquez de Acevedo, Count of Fuentes (1525–1610): Celebrated Spanish general, statesman, and Governor of the Duchy of Milan.
Doña Isabel de Fuentes (17th Century): Spanish noblewoman and philanthropist recorded in Seville civic rolls.
