The origin of the name Christensen
Christensen is an ancient Scandinavian patronymic surname meaning "son of Christen" or "son of Christian" (derived from the Latin Christianus, meaning "follower of Christ"). Deeply established across Denmark, Norway, and Northern Europe, the surname was borne by prominent merchant families, civic leaders, and landholders throughout the Baltic and North Sea trade networks. Codified in early Nordic parish registers and civic charters, the name became widespread throughout Europe and North America.
The symbolism of the Christensen coat of arms
Visually striking, the Christensen coat of arms features a radiant gold shield charged with a broad deep blue horizontal band (fess) bearing a large red crescent moon.
